The Bidirectional Adapter (Part Number 232MIL188) converts RS-232 D signals (10 lines) to MIL-STD-188C or MIL-STD-188-144A and appropriate federal and EIA standards, signals and vice versa. Synchronous or asynchronous data transmission can be achieved at low and high data rates on extended distance.
The MIL-STD-188C port can interface single MIL-STD-188C, FED-STD-1030A or RS-423A receiver inputs. The MIL-STD-188-114A port can interface single MIL-STD-188-114A,(FED-STD-1020A), RS-530 receiver inputs. Alternatively MIL-STD-188-114A port can interface up to 10 multi-dropped MIL-STD-188-114A, (FED-STD-1020A), RS-530 or RS-422A receivers inputs.
The unit is straps programmable as DTE or DCE, balanced or unbalanced device.
Optional version with full optical isolation between RS-232-D and MIL-STD-188/114 port is available.
This units can be supplied in ABS or metal enclosures, as well rack mounted (standard U6 size) version is available.
